As a result of his Teen Reach experience, Michael was placed in a stable home environment with his Aunt, who became his guardian, was returned to a school environment that offered transportation services, obtained clothes and supplies. He is currently doing well in school and is no longer selling drugs

Jazz with Pizzaz

Chicago non-profit organization Habilitative Systems, Inc. will host its annual fundraiser and 30th anniversary celebration, "Jazz with Pizzazz 2008," featuring award-winning musician Najee.

The event takes place at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, located at 151 E. Wacker Dr. The celebration begins at 6:00 p.m. Tickets cost $125 per person. For tickets and more information, contact Sharon Moreland at (773) 854-8313.

African Delegation Visits HSI

The National Association of Social Workers has sponsored exchanges with Europe and Africa for more than ten years. There have been six exchanges between Durban, South Africa and Chicago. This is the first year delegates from Casablanca, Morocco have been included. Previous exchanges have resulted in changes in policy and practice in both Africa and Chicago.
